Reclaiming Hollywood: Entertainment Summer Series launches with “The Business of Acting” Workshop and Panel for Creatives of Color on July 31, 2019.

Television host and producer LaTania Michelle @lataniamichelle and her singer/songwriter daughter, Jasmine Primah @primahxo noticed a troubling trend amongst young millennials in the entertainment industry. Breaking through as a person of color in Hollywood often breaks hearts and bruises spirits because the long road was often missing supportive role models and mentors. Using her years of experience as a Business Coach and Youth Leadership Trainer, LaTania and her daughter recently launched the Entertainment Creative Summer Series to bring insight, straight talk and support to emerging artist and creatives in the community while also developing new content for film and television through their media company.
The Creative Summer Series, part one “The Business of Acting” launches July 31, 2019 and is free and open to the public. Hosted by LaTania Michelle attendees will engage in a free interactive workshop, panel discussion and networking mixer sponsored by The Sky Limit Group’s historic location SLG Studios, (formerly Circle Theater), http://www.theskylimitgroup.com. and Lionsfly Beauty www.lionsflybeauty.com and tasty treats provided by Tonya’s Cup of Cakes & Deserts @tonyacupcakesanddeserts. The hands-on workshop is for actors or anyone looking to focuses on the inner workings of the acting profession and will assist emerging creative talents to prepare for their own big breaks. Topics include: The Actor's Tool Kit, Finding and Preparing for Auditions, and How To Get An Agent. Actor Koby Kumi-Diaka, will share his eight years of experience and insights in film, television, and theater. Koby’s appearances include the HBO hit show True Detective (season 2) and CBS mega hits Criminal Minds and CSI:NY (season 9), and the upcoming Netflix television series The Politician / Dear White People(season 3).
A free Q&A panel discussion and networking mixer encourages creatives of color and colorful personalities to meet and mingle. Entertainment Industry Experts scheduled to appear on the expert panel include: Ms. Angela White, (@msangelawhite) Filmmaker, Producer & Author, Terron Brooks, (@terronbrooks), An American singer/songwriter, Actor and Coach and finally Calvin Winbush (@calvintheII), Actor, Voice Over Coach and Recording Artist.
